About Us: Your Hosts - Caitlin and Peter

Originally from Ontario, Caitlin came out West to work for a summer job at Parks Canada. She fell in love with the prairies and returned for summer jobs until she finished her education and decided to call Val Marie home. Since 2007, Caitlin has worked for Grasslands National Park. In 2011, she purchased the old Credit Union bank in Val Marie and converted it into a restaurant. Caitlin ran The Harvest Moon Café until 2018.

Originally from Germany, Peter spent 4 years residing in the USA. Caitlin and Peter had a long-distance relationship for several years until they were separated indefinitely with the Covid-pandemic border closures. Both now reside in Val Marie, SK and after months of planning, renovating and preparing are excited to start this new chapter of their lives!
